A processing fee applies to all packages charged per pound, and a handling fee applies to packages weighing 15 lbs and over.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. My package was delivered, but I don’t see it in my Mailman Logistics Limited account.

Packages are uploaded to our system in batches. Once your package is delivered to our overseas warehouse, it may take up to 24 hours or by the end of the next business day to appear in your account.
If two business days have passed and your package is still not showing, please contact us immediately. Also ensure that the shipping address and mailbox number used are correct.

2. How long does it take for my package to arrive in Jamaica?

After your package arrives at our Florida warehouse and is logged into our system, it typically takes 3–5 business days to arrive in Jamaica and clear customs.
Shipping Schedule:
- Air Freight: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (2–3 times weekly)
- Sea Freight: Thursdays (once weekly)
Please note that shipping days may vary. Customers will be notified promptly if any delays occur.

3. Why do I need to submit invoices to Mailman Logistics Limited?

Mailman Logistics Limited is required to declare the contents and value of every package entering Jamaica to Customs.
Failure to submit invoices may result in:
- Customs delays
- Customs officers assigning a higher estimated value to your package
Providing invoices ensures faster clearance and accurate duty assessment.

4. How can I avoid paying customs duty on my package?

To qualify for duty-free clearance, please ensure the total value of your package is below USD $100.

5. Package Collection & Storage Policy

Collection Timeframes
- High-Value & Box Packages (USD $100 and over):
Must be collected within 2 business days before storage fees apply.
- Soft & Lightweight Packages:
Must be collected within 5 days once marked Ready for Pickup or Delivery.

6. Storage Fees (Charged daily, including weekends & holidays)

- Soft packages: JMD $300 per day
- Single large boxes: JMD $500 per day

7. Unclaimed & Auction Policy

- Packages left unclaimed for 10 days will be considered abandoned and subject to auction.
- Claimed soft packages left uncollected for 30 days will be auctioned to recover freight and clearance costs.
- Claimed boxes and heavy packages left uncollected after 14 days will be auctioned to recover costs.

8. Can I ship packages using multiple names or share an account?

No. For security reasons, all packages must be shipped using the registered account name and correct mailbox number.
- Account registration is free
- Mailbox numbers must remain confidential
- A valid government-issued ID is required for package pickup
Failure to register properly or using another customer’s mailbox number will result in an administrative fee of JMD $1,500 (subject to change).

9. My package appears to have been opened. Why?

All packages entering Jamaica are opened and inspected by Jamaica Customs to verify that the invoice matches the contents. After inspection, packages are resealed with cello tape.

10. Wrong Address / Unknown Packages

What are Unknown Packages?
Unknown packages are shipments sent without the required courier code and mailbox number in Address Line 2.
To avoid this, always include:
- Your Mail courier code
- Your assigned mailbox number
Example:
Mail10001
⚠️ Failure to use the complete address may cause your package to be misdelivered or sent to the Unknown Department.

11. Process to Retrieve Unknown Packages

Customers must submit:
- Delivery slip
- Tracking number
- Full name on the package
- Proof of the address used when ordering
Once submitted:
1. An investigation is conducted
2. A retrieval request is sent to the Unknown Department
3. Estimated retrieval time: 2–3 weeks
If the package is not retrieved within 1 month, neither Mailman Logistics Limited nor the warehouse will be liable for refunds or replacements.
Customers will receive an email update once the package is retrieved.
Retrieval Fees:
- Soft packages: JMD $500
- Boxes: JMD $1,000 – $2,500 (based on size)

12. Failure to Submit an Invoice

All customers must submit a complete invoice for customs declaration.
A Complete Invoice Must Include:
1. Order number
2. Screenshot showing the tracking number
3. Item description with cost breakdown
4. Checkout total showing the final amount paid

13. Invoice Deadline

Invoices must be submitted after the package arrives at our warehouse but before it reaches Jamaica.
Why This Is Important
Invoices ensure:
- Faster customs clearance
- Protection against fraudulent claims
- Proper package ownership verification
Consequences of Missing Invoices
- Packages may be detained and incur reclearance fees
- Packages will not be released until invoice information is provided
- Storage fees still apply after 5 days, even if cleared without an invoice

14. Pickup & Delivery Policy

Storage Fees After 5 Days
- Small packages: JMD $300 per day
- Single packages (boxes): JMD $500 per day
- Fees apply including holidays

15. Unclaimed Packages

- Packages unclaimed after 10 days may be auctioned

16. If I have multiple packages ready, do I have to pay for all at once?

Yes. Packages are released in order. The first set of ready packages must be collected or paid for before additional packages can be released.
